Gig Harbor Walk

After a long week, Cindi and I decided to head to the Harbor for a Friday evening stroll. Of course I just happend to throw my camera over my shoulder.

I am glad I did... There was some cool clouds and of course Mt. Rainier goes well with anything.

The fall colors are also in full swing as well......Maybe these downtown Gig Harbor shots can help bring even more people downtown to enjoy the sites, sounds and of course the El Pueblito Macho Burrito...(even though I am not much of an eater :O)

Loon & Seal VERSUS Fish

There has been a small seal swimming around in our back yard recently. This seal is just cleaning up on the fish. It seems every time he comes to the surface, he has a fish in his mouth. Kinda reminds me of a cat playing with a mouse.
The Loons also have just started showing up this week off of Ray Nash Drive. I watched with glee as this one continued to nail the fish as well...

So far, Loon and Seal: EIGHT Fish: ZERO...

Saturday Walk...

Me and my dog, Bama went for a walk this morning. When I woke up a little earlier in the morning it was a whopping 39 degrees. I still will take clear and cold any day over 53 degrees and rain...

Here are some shots from our walk...

Kingfisher tidbits

Here are three pictures of a Belted Kingfisher that was on our dock today. After taking these pictures I went to my handy-dandy bird book and found out the following about the Belted Kingfisher: "A Belted Kingfisher returns to its perch with a freshly caught fish in its bill, beats it senseless against the perch, then swallows it headfirst".....(you gotta love the animal kingdom)...

Maple Colors

We have a beautiful Maple tree on the southwest side of our home. When we first moved into our house, I almost actually cut the tree down.... Why? Because in the winter it has to be one of the ugliest trees on Ray Nash Drive... I don't believe this tree had ever been pruned and without a full set of leaves all you see is branches going everywhere...up, down, sideways, etc.....But, when the leaves are plentiful...it has to be one of the best looking trees on the block. Here it is in all of its' Fall beauty!
